Memory Verses

This is a category for memory verses and their devotions.

Jeremiah 17:9

The rebirth is not a process; it is not a progressive move “God-ward,” neither is it a new way of life, an ideology of sorts. It is a singular act whereby God replaces the sick, wicked, deceitful heart we’ve all inherited from Adam, with a new heart: a heart indwelt by the Holy Spirit: a heart which desperately loves Jesus Christ and submits to His truth.

Joshua 1:9

Joshua 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid; neither be though dismayed; for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Let’s start with a little background on Joshua. He is an Old Testament saint who was appointed by God, through Moses, to take […]

Habakkuk 1:13

Habakkuk 1:13 Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?

For this verse, we are content to focus on the glorious holiness of God and trust in His sovereignty. You can probably spend less than 15 minutes and read through the entire book of Habakkuk for a more in depth understanding. That is time better spent than reading this blog, to be sure! What are you missing if you do? Is there another tab on your computer with Facebook or MySpace or ESPN or something else you are wishing to get back to? Contemplate and study God’s Word, dear reader!

Matthew 7:21

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Again, we see an example of Jesus separating people 1 of 2 ways. There are those that go to heaven, and those that will […]

Ephesians 2:8-9

Ephesians 2:8-9, For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. Praise God for that! Hallelujah, Amen! I could stop right there, but I won’t. 🙂 This verse is packed with implications for your theology. Soteriology is […]

Hebrews 13:8

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. Wow! How can our finite minds even begin to comprehend this? Let’s face it, we only understand things on a limited level. What a contrast to God whose understanding is infinite – Ps 147:5. Jesus Christ has never changed, and never will. While we […]
