A horrifying new version of the bible has been released. There are mixed reviews of this book, even among expected supporters (see Amazon listing).

The bottom line is this: the editors of this bible took a select number of verses which condemn homosexuality, re-interpreted them in a fashion which does not condemn homosexuality, then called it a version/translation. They are charging 34.95 for the book which is based on the KJV.

You can read a critique of the Queen James Bible at CARM.org where Matt Slick has helped us by reviewing the Greek and Hebrew and translating the verses correctly, side by side by the QJB.

I encourage you to read the link above and decide for yourself if you think this translation was done with integrity to the original meaning of the text. What I find notable is that the authors of this version are admitting that the generally accepted translations do, in fact, condemn homosexuality!

The Queen James Bible seems to be a very poor strategy, and I assume this “bible version” will die quickly as intelligent homosexuals will not ultimately support this type of foolishness. This attempt to push the ‘gay agenda’ is almost embarrassingly pathetic, in my opinion, from a purely pragmatic standpoint.

Look, I don’t mean to be rude, but let’s face it; the bible is clear about homosexuality: it condemns it. Honest and intelligent gays will acknowledge that they just don’t believe the bible, or that they simply live in open rebellion to its teaching. Gay pride dictates that they really just need to be proud of their lifestyle regardless of what God’s Word declares; they don’t actually need to change the bible to justify themselves.
